First, congratulations to our Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Councilmember Brad Lander on their primary victories and, so near certainty, of becoming our City’s next Mayor and Comptroller, respectively.

First, congratulations to our Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Councilmember Brad Lander on their primary victories and, so near certainty, of becoming our City’s next Mayor and Comptroller, respectively. 

While it wasn’t reported on the front page of the New York Times, our Executive Committee, during our Full Board hiatus, met last night. ULURP’s to allow for the construction of EPA-mandated CSO tanks, rezoning of 506 and 530 Third Avenue, text amendments for the easier establishment of Fitness Centers, and expanding the Fresh Program were approved. At the same time, the committee voted to disapprove a Hotel Special Permit text amendment. Along with those land-use items, a new liquor license for 1114 8th Avenue was approved, and the committee made a motion to support legislation making ‘to-go” cocktails permanently legal.
