I hope this email finds you well as August begins, a month that Sylvia Plath referred to as the “odd uneven time.” I’d argue that the past 18 months have all fit this bill of odd unevenness, but I digress to bring you some reminders, happenings, and Items of interest.

Firstly, a reminder to get vaccinated against COVID-19 ASAP. This has always been important, but with the Delta Variant spreading with the ease of chickenpox, the best thing one can do is get paid 100 dollars and get vaccinated ASAP.

If you don’t, it’s less likely that our next Full Board meeting will be in person. For those who like to mark their calendars, it’s currently scheduled for Wednesday, September 8th, at the Van Alen Institute, which is located at 303 Bond Street between Union and Sackett. We will, of course, share any changes to that, but, as of this writing, the open meeting law is not suspended, and we’re required to meet in person.

Before that, there’s certainly a lot happening, all at a safe distance and predominantly outdoors, such as the 76th & 78th Precinct’s National Night out Against Crime, Art Gowanus Open Studios registration, drawing classes, and Jam Sessions

Those items, and more, are listed past my signature, so I’d recommend checking them out. So stay safe and cool while enjoying the rest of your Monday.

Best,
