There’s been a fair amount of media attention(as far as community boards go) concerning what meetings will look like in the fall. Unfortunately, with the expiration of emergency declarations the law lacks any room for adjustments, and so all meetings must be in person and cannot allow for virtual participation. 

Of course, just because the law is a certain way at the moment doesn’t mean it should or will remain that way or, even more importantly, that a virus would just adjust its plans accordingly. For those reasons, and others such as a lack of available spaces for meetings that would allow for social distancing, we signed on to a letter to the state legislature, with a majority of other Brooklyn Community boards asking for flexibility in such matters. 

I’ll keep everyone reading this updated if anything changes, but, again, as of now, our next meeting is entirely in person on Wednesday, September 8th at the Van Alen Institute and set to begin at 6:30 PM.

I’ll again remind folks of the importance of getting vaccinated against Covid-19 and where to find out more information.  On that note, I’ll recommend you to kick off the weekend by reading the items below, but no matter what, stay safe and be well!
