I'll be brief and just touch on 3 of the more popular topics in this newsletter history, Gowanus, meeting reminders, and Covid-19 vaccines.
First, adjacent to the rezoning and central to the Superfund, the Gowanus CSO ULURP, which we approved in June, has been approved by Borough President Adams and now moves to the City Planning Commission.
Secondly, please remember that two weeks from today is our September Board meeting which will be held at the Van Alen Institue at 303 Bond Street. While there is talk of changes to the Open Metting Law, it will be entirely in-person as required by the antiquated law.
Third, such meetings could be less dependent on legal changes if more folks were vaccinated against Covid-19, and we didn’t see infection numbers rise for, I think, the 4th wave of this.
I’ll stop and recommend checking out the items listed below, including “Battle of Brooklyn” and “Build Your Block” events. But even if you choose not to check them out, stay safe, stay cool and enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.
