I hope this email finds you well as we head into the weekend with 80% of NYC adults at least partially vaccinated against Covid-19. Such stats make it possible that this pandemic, which feels likes like an unending bad dream, could eventually end, at least locally.

Speaking of dreams, you may have heard that the Grand Prospect Hall will not be landmarked. However, based on the communication I’ve received, you may not have realized that it is not within our district. I mention this not just for clarification regarding the event space famous for its commercials, but because district lines, NOT for community boards but for NY’s state legislative and congressional seats, are in the process of being changed as they are every decade. So, even if you don’t move, a different representative may have chosen you as one of their likely voters the next time you vote for State Assembly, State Senate, and Congress. You can see the current proposals and let the redistricting commission know what you think by various means here.

Keeping with a theme of things to see, the Gowanus Rezoning’s Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) can be seen, and read, here.

On that note, I’ll stop and suggest you scroll down for more information on various happenings and items of interest, such as our BQE meeting, visual experiences, art, building blocks, java, and more meetings.

Best,
Mike Racioppo, District Manager
