I’d like to start by looking back to yesterday and congratulating everyone who won elections as they’ll have the great privilege of leading our city into the future. On the city and borough-wide level, congratulations to Eric Adams on becoming the 110th Mayor of New York City, Anthonio Reynoso as his successor as Brooklyn Borough President, Jumanee Williams, on his reelection as our Public Advocate and Brad Lander to be our city’s next comptroller. On the councilmanic side of the ballot, I’d like to congratulate Lincoln Restler, who will succeed Steve Levin in the 33rd District, Alex Avila, who will succeed Carlos Menchcha in the 38th; and Shahana Hanif, who will succeed Brad Lander in the 39th District and who made history as the first Muslim woman to be elected to the New York City Council.
Some results are still being tabulated and waiting on absentee and affidavit ballots. If you’re interested in keeping an eye on such things, click here for the Board of Elections’ current count.
I’ll stop here but remind you that Alternate Side Parking is suspended tomorrow and that a week from now, on Wednesday, November 10th, we have our monthly full board meeting via zoom. On that note, I’ll thank you for reading this far along and hope that you enjoy the rest of your day.
