I hope this email finds you well on this third day of February. I’d like to quickly highlight a couple of items before you scroll down or choose to do something else entirely.

First, The Office of Emergency Management issued a travel advisory for tomorrow, February 4th, into Saturday the 5th. The forecast predicts a cold front to follow the recent rain, thus creating ice across the city. With that in mind, the Department of Sanitation has issued a “Winters Operations Advisory,” and Alternate Side Parking remains suspended.

Secondly, a week from tonight, at 7 pm on Thursday, Feb 10th, on Zoom, New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection is hosting a meeting about the development of the Gowanus Canal "Owls Head" combined sewer overflow (CSO) facility at 2nd Avenue and 6th Street. The “Owls Head” CSO facility is an especially important project as a condition in our Gowanus Rezoning resolution was that the rezoning “must result in a net decrease in CSOs.”
