I hope this email finds you well on this gray and gusting twenty-first day of April. To those who asked, “highlighting” issues was an unintended pun in yesterday’s newsletter. Speaking of, I have three items to highlight and some recommended reading.

First, one day, I’ll mention Covid-19 rates rising in the city, and then they’ll drop back down, never to rise again. I doubt it, but maybe today is that longed-for last mention as hospitalizations are up 56% this month and are inching closer to a “medium/orange” risk level. How that impacts day-to-day life in the city is to be determined (TBD). However, what is not TBD is that the best way to stay safe is to get tested, vaccinated, boosted, and, if eligible, boosted again.

Secondly, and guaranteed to be safe, a week from tonight, over zoom on Thursday, April 28th at 630 PM, our Landmarks/Land Use(LM/LU) Committee meets. The agenda will be on the LM side of the committee and consist of four Certificates of Appropriateness(C of A) applications. One “C of A” is in the Park Slope Historic District, while the other three are in the Cobble Hill Historic District. Third, if you park a private vehicle on public streets, please note that Alternate Side Parking will be suspended from tomorrow, Friday, April 22nd, and Saturday, April 23rd. However, it’s not a complete retrieve as Parking Meters will still be in effect.
