I hope this email finds you well on this twentieth day of April. A date that (420) has many, including the Mayor and Governor, celebrating marijuana becoming legal in New York.
I hope this email finds you well on this twentieth day of April. A date that (420) has many, including the Mayor and Governor, celebrating marijuana becoming legal in New York. However, I fall far short of 420 and have three items I’d like to highlight today.
First, earlier today, after years of work and millions of dollars spent to remediate, the Red Hook Ball Fields, specifically fields 5 through 8, officially reopened. Celebrating this were Mayor Adams, Congresswoman Velasquez, Councilmember Aviles, the EPA, the City’s Parks Department, lots of community members, and five CB6 Members, including Red Hook’s Leroy Branch, Board Secretary Karen Broughton, and our Parks Chair Glenn Kelly. It’s expected to get colder tonight, but while we were out there ( I could only attend briefly), it was beautiful and served as an excellent reminder of how important parks are.
Secondly, an annoyingly regular reminder to get tested, vaccinated, and boosted against Covid-19 if you haven’t already done so. The rate of infection, especially reinfection, is ticking back up, and the best way to stay safe is to take such precautions.
Third, if you park a private vehicle on public streets, please note that Alternate Side Parking is suspended from tomorrow, Thursday, April 21st, through Saturday, April 23rd. However, it’s not a complete reprieve as Parking Meters will still be in effect.
More items are listed below my contact info. I suggest you check them out, but enjoy the rest of your day, no matter what you think of my suggestions.
