The humid weather and increasingly early sunsets contrast in an annoying fashion. However, with a focus on the near future and the recent past, hopefully, the contrasts contained in the following paragraphs will be received better than the humidity. 

First, at 7 PM tonight, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection(DEP) is hosting a virtual meeting regarding the development of the Gowanus Canal "Owls Head" combined sewer overflow facility. To attend, register at bit.ly/depcso1026.  

Secondly, also tonight,  NYC  Schools Chancellor David Banks will hold a town hall meeting at M.S 88 from 6:30 until 8:30. The meeting will also be live-streamed; to register, go to learndoe.org/cec/.

Third, our Permits & Licenses(P&L)  committee met on Monday night. Rebecca Kobert chaired the meeting, had a quorum, and the committee approved all applications on the agenda. One of those approvals, Loft 251, was conditional. The next step for those applications will be a vote at our November 9th full board meeting, which will be a hybrid (virtual & in-person) meeting. The virtual part of the hybrid equation will be on Zoom @/bit.ly/CB6Nov922 and the in-person portion will take place at the Van Alen Institute.
