We start November with disturbingly warm weather and seven days left to vote. Years ago, democracy and weather may have seemed unrelated. However, in the present day, they're directly connected to what kinds of policies are implemented at all levels of government. To be clear, I'm not referring to rain in Ohio 18 years ago; I'm talking about the existential threat of climate change. 

This year's election will determine who will be Governor, LT Governor, and represent us in the US. Senate & House, our state legislature, and include various ballot proposals.

Early voting sites are open until 8 pm tonight and every day through Sunday, November 6th, followed by election day on Tuesday, November 8th. For more information on the candidates, go to nycvotes.org. To find out where to vote, go to findmypollsite.vote.nyc/.

I'll stop here and suggest you keep reading, as democracy isn't just election day; it's a year-round activity. For example, just like in 2016, we have our November full board meeting the day after the election, which will be on Wednesday, November 9th, at 6:30 pm over Zoom and at the Van Alen Institute.
