Week Was, Weekend Will

We're heading into a final fall weekend that'll see rain stop and Hanukkah start. A happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate.

We're heading into a final fall weekend that'll see rain stop and Hanukkah start. A happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate. This weekend follows a work week that included BQE workshops and, on Wednesday, our final meeting of 2022.

Our final meeting of 2022 was also the last meeting of Peter Fleming's tenure as CB6 chair.

Unfortunately for us, but a respite for Peter, who was term-limited after four years. I say respite because we're fortunate that he's agreed to continue serving as a CB6 member and rejoin our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee. His time as chair included covid, the Gowanus Rezoning, and more. As expressed by many during the meeting, including former CB6 member and current Comptroller Lander, Peter's leadership and hard work have been greatly appreciated.

Speaking of our Landmarks/Land Use (LM/LU) Committee, there was 1 LM item up for a vote during Wednesday's full board meeting. That item, presented by David Briggs, was an application for the enlargement of a backyard extension at 101 Saint John's place, which was overwhelmingly approved. There were also votes on three liquor license applications from our Permits & Licenses committee. Rebecca Kobert presented, and all were approved.

With a glance towards 2023, starting on January 1st, Eric McClure will be chairperson, Angelica Ramdhari will be 1st Vice-chair, Karen Broughton 2nd Vice-chair, Jerry Armer will become Secretary, and Rebecca Kobert will be Treasurer. I've worked with them and am excited to continue to do so in their new roles as CB6 officers.

I'll stop the synopsis here and suggest you read the rest of this email. Stay safe, stay warm, and have a great weekend.

Best,
Mike Racioppo, District Manager
