Hoping your 2023 is off to a great start on this too-warm Wednesday. Our state and federal legislatures, in Albany and D.C., have kicked things off.

Hoping your 2023 is off to a great start on this too-warm Wednesday. Our state and federal legislatures, in Albany and D.C., have kicked things off. For once, with quick leadership elections, Albany looks like a legislative role model. D.C., on the other hand, has made clear that, despite the chaos, with Senator Schumer being elected Majority Leader and Hakeem Jeffries having received the most votes for speaker on six different ballots, Brooklyn is the place to be. Senator Schumer is even a CB6 resident residing in Park Slope. 

Speaking of leadership from Park Slope, Eric McClure is officially the chairperson of CB6. His tenure's first full board meeting is a week from tonight, over Zoom, on Wednesday, January 11th, at 6:30 PM. Register at bit.ly/cb6jan11. 

But before that, on Monday, January 9th, at 6:30 PM, our Permits & Licenses Committee will meet and vote on liquor licenses for some local bars and restaurants. Register at bit.ly/cb6jan9. For all we know, in light of the Times declaring a restaurant renaissance for Park Slope, this meeting could capture the zeitgeist of 2023.
