We also have less than four hours until our Permits and Licenses Committee meets to review two liquor license applications. One is for a Caribbean fusion restaurant at 321 9th Street, and the other is for a Thai restaurant at 204 Smith Street. The meeting will take place via Zoom and will start at 6:30 PM. If reviewing local liquor licenses sounds interesting, you should apply to be a Community Board member. Of course, as a former chair of this committee, I’m biased, but it’s always interesting to hear from a cross-section of the community, find out what’s planned, and get to see some menus before local bars and restaurants even open. We’ve got some great places in the district, many of which have come through our approval process. Some are part of restaurant week, others, like Travel Bar, are nationally recognized, while the Times insists there’s a restaurant renaissance in Park Slope.
