I hope you're doing well as we head into the weekend. But, first, I’ll offer a quick look at the week that was.

I hope you're doing well as we head into the weekend. But, first, I’ll offer a quick look at the week that was. 

On Monday, we hosted a town hall with Representative Goldman focused on the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) storm resiliency plans and what it would mean for Red Hook and Gowanus. Thanks to an extension announced during the town hall, comments on the plan are being accepted until March 31st. I've compiled information, including how to submit comments and a town hall recording at bit.ly/cb6usaceinfo.

Our March meeting was on Wednesday through Zoom and at the Van Alen Institute. We approved two NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission applications and reaffirmed support for the New Yorkers for Parks “Play Fair” Campaign, seeking 1% of the City budget devoted to parks. In addition to those approvals, there were ample announcements; a CB6 BQE meeting this coming Thursday, and on Tuesday,  there’ll be a Red Hook Library meeting and, later on, that same day, a kickoff meeting for DOT’s Red Hook traffic study.

Those meetings and the “more” referred to are listed later in this email. You should probably check them out, but no matter what you do, have a great weekend.
