First, last night we hosted a town hall with Representative Goldman focused on the U.S Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) storm resiliency plans and what it would mean for Red Hook and Gowanus. There were over 250 people in attendance with a wide range of concerns about the plan. Thanks to an extension announced last night, those concerns can still be submitted for comment on the plan until March 31st.
The USACE's comment submission format could be more user-friendly. Before submitting, I recommend reading Councilman Restler's submission guide. If you need clarification on whether you want to comment, it could help to watch the recording of last night's meeting or read the presentation or coverage from the Brooklyn Eagle. I've compiled information at bit.ly/cb6usaceinfo.
Second, this month's Full Board meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8th. It's in-person at the Van Alen Institute and remotely on Zoom, starting at 6:30 PM.
I hope you read on in this email, but no matter what, enjoy the rest of your night.
