Thanksgiving, Lifts, Meetings & More

Hopefully, you're doing well with lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. While not universally festive, I've got some items to share as the holiday season starts.

Hopefully, you're doing well with lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. While not universally festive, I've got some items to share as the holiday season starts.

First, after years of advocacy, the 7 Av F/G subway station has elevators, making it fully accessible. It was great to be at the ribbon cutting with multiple CB6 members, including Bob Levine, as we've long supported and advocated for this. That advocacy took place alongside Assemblymember Carroll, Councilmember Hanif, their predecessors, former Assemblymember Jim Brennan and Comptroller Brad Lander, the Park Slope Civic Council, Good Neighbors of Park Slope, and many others. While we're certainly thankful to the MTA for making this a reality, we still need many more stations to become fully accessible. 

Secondly, Alternate Side Parking, meters, sanitation, and postal services will be suspended for Thanksgiving tomorrow, Thursday, November 23rd. On Friday, November 24th, they'll return to normal. 

Third, we've got two CB6 meetings next week. On Monday, we'll review liquor licenses; on Thursday, we'll review Landmarks and Land Use Items; however, before and after those meetings, there's plenty planned across the community. Read the rest of this email, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
