We had some snow to start the week and are expecting some more to end it. I’ll be brief with three things: a recap, a reminder, and a recommendation.
We had some snow to start the week and are expecting some more to end it. I’ll be brief with three things: a recap, a reminder, and a recommendation.
First, the hearing I’d been hyping in this space for Council Member Aviles’s cruise ship and shore power/traffic mitigation legislation was held yesterday. CB6 Chair Eric McClure and many folks from the community, specifically Red Hook, also testified and attended the press conference preceding the hearing. The legislation is gaining support and has 14 co-sponsors in the council, and as we’ve seen, if necessary, this is a legislative body willing to overturn a mayoral veto. Read our statement of support of the legislation at bit.ly/cb6supportintro4.
Second, our February Full Board meeting is this Wednesday, February 21st, at Van & Zoom. Third, I recommend reading the rest of this email, as there’s plenty to find out.
Regardless of what you make of that recommendation or anything else I’ve said, I hope you have a good weekend.
