As usual, it’s either raining, about to rain or recently rained, as I am sending this. However, correlation isn’t causation, so regardless of the rain, I’ll keep sending these emails as the weekend begins.

This weekend has a lot going on, especially with Earth Day approaching, but before that, I’d like to look back on two things that happened in the week that was.  

First, on Monday, with DOT, CB8, and CB9, we hosted a Grand Army Plaza redesign meeting. The main “news” of the meeting was that DOT laid out a schedule, which ended with a construction timeline being announced this winter; you can see the presentation at bit.ly/dotgap4152024

Second, the 341 10TH Street rezoning was approved by the City Council yesterday. It’s essentially identical to what we supported in December, so this is great news. It adds hundreds of units of affordable housing in a transit-rich location, and, as was part of our conditions, it includes a community benefit agreement that gives current tenants a greater role in ensuring this plan is implemented correctly. Big credit, thanks, and congrats to Council Members Aviles and Hanif for getting this across the finish line.
