The previous newsletter said that things were, considering the forecast for no rain, the Knicks and Rangers were trending up. Rain may be in the forecast this weekend, but the Knicks and Rangers have since both won their first playoff series, so things are still trending up. Also, just like last week, I doubt anyone signed up for this for sports, so I'll shift to civics.

First, we started the week with a CB6 Permits & Licenses meeting on Monday, where we saw three liquor license applications that were recommended for approval. One was for 347 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, another in Gowanus at 267 Douglass Street, and the third was for 295 5th Avenue in Park Slope. Those three items, along with two approved by our Landmark Committee last week, now advance to a vote from our Full Board at our May meeting. The May Full Board meeting, in-person at Van Alen & virtually over Zoom, is this Wednesday, May 8th, starting at 6:30 PM.

Secondly, a bill (sponsored by CM Alexa Aviles) that required NYC DOT to redesign the city truck route became law last year. Today, thanks to that law, a portal for feedback on how the truck routes should be withdrawn was launched. We've wanted and been on the record for years, calling newer and safer truck routes, especially in Red Hook. So go to bit.ly/dottruckfeedback and let DOT know your thoughts on how this should be done.
