In 2023, Bensonhurst was the city’s 12th largest neighborhood by population out of 59 neighborhoods. Among the 59 districts, it has the 36th largest proportion of nonwhite population, the 35th highest median income, and the 32nd most expensive rents. From 2010 to 2024, the district added 1,618 new housing units, 1,590 units of which were market rate and 28 units of which were income restricted.
