Demographics
In 2023, Sheepshead Bay was the city’s 25th largest neighborhood by population out of 59 neighborhoods. Among the 59 districts, it has the 57th largest proportion of nonwhite population, the 36th highest median income, and the 31st most expensive rents. From 2010 to 2024, the district added 2,173 new housing units, 2,021 units of which were market rate and 152 units of which were income restricted.
