Brooklyn Community District 3

Brooklyn Community District 3 encompasses Bedford-Stuyvesant, Stuyvesant Heights, and Ocean Hill. Covering 2.9 square miles and home to more than 150,000 residents, it centers on Bedford-Stuyvesant and Ocean Hill, two neighborhoods with deep civic, cultural, and political histories.

The district is primarily residential, with blocks of brownstones, small apartment buildings, churches, schools, and commercial corridors that carry much of the neighborhood's daily life.
