Sending along a few items that I hope be put to good use in your life…
1 - Following up on our very own Joe Anne Brown’s announcement last night that she is collecting new, and lightly used, sneakers for students at Wingate High School.
If you’d like to donate you can drop off with me or contact Ms. Brown directly at (347)282-3599.
2- Again, next Wednesday, January 16 th at my Alma Mater, MS 51 , we are co-sponsoring, with CEC15 , BKCB7 and other groups, a forum on the Mayor's plan to improve diversity at Specialized High Schools. Check out the flyer here.
Also, I have to give a big thank you to our very own Neal Zephyrn for getting the ball rolling on this event.
4- As a follow up on the my, borderline daily, voter registration reminder, please note that the last day to register for the February 26th Public Advocate election is February 1 st by mail and in person by February 16 th .
5- Here is the Community Board Membership application. Everyone who is up for renewal has heard from me but if you’d like to share it or think someone could be a good member here, or anywhere across Brooklyn, please pass it along.
6 -Alternate side parking rules, and meters, will be in effect tomorrow Friday, January 11 th
