I have to start by giving big shout out to our very own Human Services Chair, Kathy Park Price, on a great job organizing yesterday’s “Civic Engagement” workshop. Looking forward to more events that help engage members of our community!
Like most weekdays I’m sending along a few bits of information that could prove useful.
1 - Article about DEP’s presentation to the CAG on Tuesday night from the tireless Pam Wong.
2- If you are an artist, or know an artist, that would interested in having their work displayed publicly property see here to find out how to be part DOT Art Programs . The deadline for this program is February 15 th .
3- Keeping with February 15 th deadline theme, I’d like to, remind everyone that it is also the last date to apply for membership to Brooklyn Community Boards. Everyone who is up for renewal on our board has heard from me but please pass along the application to folks that could be interested across Brooklyn.
4- Lunar New Year is coming up on February 5th- check out some great spots that you can celebrate it in NYC Parks.
5 - The MTA has delayed a vote on fare hikes. This could be an opportunity to mention that fares for public transportation, isn’t always necessary.
6- Alternate side parking rules, and meters, will be in effect tomorrow Friday, January 25th th .
