Friday January 25th, 2019: the day when an agreement seems (as of this writing) to have been put in place to reopen the Federal Government for 3 weeks.
Somehow, I feel like I missed the Federalist Paper that explained the founders envisioning government as perpetually, and temporarily, delayed, due to entirely self-imposed crisis. In contrast, our Municipal Government has not suffered the same consequence and for that reason I am able to send out some useful reminders as we head into the last weekend of January.
1 - I reiterate that on February 6th , from 6 PM until 8 PM at PS 32 , the Department of City Planning w ill be hosting an open house focused on the next steps in the Gowanus rezoning process.
Speaking of that process click here to see the Gowanus By Design (GBD) slide presentation that was given at our Landmarks & Land Use Committee meeting last night by our very own David Briggs wearing his other hat as GBD executive director.
2 - A week from today, February 1st, is the last day to register by mail to vote in the February 26th special election for the citywide position of Public Advocate.
Have a great weekend and, as always, feel free to share this information anyway you see fit!
