Let me start by thanking our Assistant District Manager, Ty Beatty for representing us at the Saint John’s Place Community Association meeting last night. Even as the answers given by DDC were not well received , hopefully DDC rights this wrong and quickly.
Tonight, The Gowanus Canal Conservancy will host its annual meeting at 501 Union Street ; The Park Slope Civic Council will meet at the Old Stone House , and Congresswoman Yvette Clarke is hosting an impeachment focused town hall at the Grand Army Plaza Library .
Looking ahead to the weekend, on Saturday, November 9th, there will be a walk in support of immigrant children detained at the borde r .
On Sunday, if you’d like to rid yourself of any pumpkins, but want to do so in a fun/stress relieving and environmentally friendly way, come by the Carroll Gardens Greenmarket and smash them !
Looking to next week, Monday, November 11th , is, of course, Veterans Day , and the annual ceremony in Carroll Park honoring our military veterans will be held at 11 AM . Alternate Side Parking (ASP) and DSNY pickups will be suspended. New York City public schools are also closed for Veterans Day.
On Tuesday, November 12th, at the Park Slope Library , the MTA is hosting an open house regarding the Brooklyn Bus Network Redesign , and many see this as an opportunity to bring back the B71 bus . Also, don’t forget that next Wednesday, November 13th is our Full Board meeting .
Please note that ASP will be in effect tomorrow Friday, November 8th , and click here for planned service changes affecting subways and buses .
