Tonight, Two Weeks, Two Schools

I have a few items to go over before suggesting you check out items below my signature.

Today, September 10th was supposed to be the first day of in-person learning. Unfortunately, even though the in-person start of school was moved back to September 21st and no students have attended classes in the buildings, we’ve already got two local schools (MS 88& PS 1) shut down for at least the next two weeks. Of course, there is still time to avoid an inequitable super spreader event in our schools but that’s up to a former CB6 resident.

In contrast with an event that was supposed to happen, our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee meeting is still on for 6 PM this evening. As mentioned in prior updates it will feature, along with two landmark items, a presentation from Gowanus Lands on a park proposal to replace the current proposal for affordable housing, a park, and a school for the city-owned site commonly referred to as “public place.” Register for it here and if you won’t be part of the meeting, but want to say something about it feel free to email.

With that I’ll say that there are some exciting things that you can find out about below my signature, including tonight’s F train forum and that indoor restaurant dining is set to resume on September 30th. Of course, in whatever manner you spend it, enjoy the rest of the day and stay safe.
