As previewed in previous emails,  last night, we had an EWCDH committee meeting focused on Congresswoman Velasquez’s Public Housing Emergency Response Act. We had a good turnout, with over 80 people in attendance.

As previewed in previous emails,  last night, we had an EWCDH committee meeting focused on Congresswoman Velasquez’s Public Housing Emergency Response Act. We had a good turnout, with over 80 people in attendance. Thanks to everyone who attended and especially to Dan Wiley for coming and speaking on behalf of Congresswoman Velasquez. If you didn’t attend or did and want a refresher, the meeting is on our YouTube channel. 

In about 48 hours from now, we’ll have our second meeting of the week, which is Thursday’s  Landmarks/ Land Use Committee meeting which has only one item on the agenda, and that’s for an application to build a 14 story mixed-use building at 145 Wolcott Street in Red Hook. It will be, literally and figuratively, a tall task. I’m confident the committee and community are ready to ask excellent questions, and whether it’s approved or denied, will have put in the work to have informative discussion and debate.
