I hope this email finds you well as it no longer just feels like spring; it has arrived on your calendar, as well. Our focus today is on a few items directly in the BKCB6 orbit.

The first week of spring will have two BKCB6 committee meetings. The first of those is tonight, Monday, March 22, at 6:30 pm, with Permits & Licenses congregating over Zoom. The second committee meeting is our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee on Thursday, March 25, also over Zoom and also at 6:30 PM.

We will also have 2 BKCB6 Committee Meetings next week. One week from tonight, Monday, March 29, at 6:30 pm, our Economic Waterfront Community Development and Housing Committee will meet with an update from the Gowanus Dredgers and a presentation from the now locally-based non-profit, Van Alen Institute. On Wednesday, March 31st, our Youth, Human Services, and Education committee will meet and hear from the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Speaking of Youth Services, the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) application is now open. You may recall in last year’s budget, we were, among many others, successful in our opposition to defunding this program.
