Tonight at our YHSE committee meeting, we’ll hear from the NYC Test and Trace Corps and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. It will start at 6:30 PM and be held over Zoom.

It will start at 6:30 PM and be held over Zoom. You may also want to note our April full board meeting is two weeks from tonight on Wednesday, April 14th at 6:30 PM, also over Zoom.

As for why we meet over zoom, the COVID-19 pandemic virus is adaptive and we may see a fourth wave. I think it’s safe to say we shouldn’t help this unrelenting virus. No matter how weary we are of all things pandemic, as experts keep saying, don’t give up now, get vaccinated ASAP, maintain distance and mask up. 

Before ending my routine of well wishes and recommend reading, I’d draw your attention to 2 Gowanus-related items. First, the EPA issued an administrative ruling requiring the city to construct sewage retention tanks for the Gowanus Canal Superfund Cleanup. Secondly, BKLYNER has coverage of the Van Alen Institute’s(VAI) presentation given during Monday’s EWCDH meeting. Specifically, VAI’s Gowanus Neighborhood Fellowship. This is an excellent opportunity to be paid to plan and get involved. However, if you’re reading a community board newsletter, you’re probably doing it already.

On that note, I'll remind you that Alternate Side Park Regulations will be suspended tomorrow, and no, I didn't miss that marijuana will be legal. Lastly, I recommend reading on, getting vaccinating ASAP, and enjoying the rest of your Wednesday.
