Tonight, Monday, June 14th, we have an Economic Waterfont, Community Development, and Housing Committee meeting. The meeting’s agenda will consist of 2 items. The first is the Smith-Court Bid Formation effort, and the second is a discussion with a representative(s) from the Red Hook Initiative on last-mile warehouses. If you want to refresh yourself on some of what we’ve asked DOT about regarding such warehouses, check it out here.

We, at CB6, have two more meetings this week.  On Wednesday, June 16th, District 15 Superintendent Anita Skop will join our Youth, Human Services & Education Committee to discuss the elementary school rezoning plans, which will also be on the docket at tomorrow’s CEC 15 meeting.  Both will be held over zoom and get started at 6:30 PM.

Our 3rd meeting of the week on Thursday, June 17th, over Zoom, beginning at 6:30 PM, is our Landmarks/Land Use Committee meeting which will feature a vote on the Gowanus Rezoning. For those interested, here is the current draft resolution that the committee is circulating. After that, whatever the committee ends up saying will be passed on to the full board for a final resolution and vote at our June 23rd meeting. The process then moves on to the Borough President for his recommendation(s).

There’s more going on in the coming days that I’ve included below and recommend checking out. But even if you don’t check it out, stay safe, get vaccinated against COVID-19, and enjoy the rest of your day.

Best,
Mike Racioppo, District Manager
