I hope this email finds you well as we head into a holiday weekend culminating in honoring the great Martin Luther King Jr’s life this coming Monday, January 17th.

There are opportunities to, if one is able, dedicate Monday to service. One example is the Red Hook Community Cleanup led by the Red Hook Community Justice Center. Part of the reason more folks can dedicate the day to service is that it’s a holiday with many businesses and offices closed. This could of course change as the weather forecast is predicting snow on Sunday and Monday.

I can’t speak to the status of individual businesses but, this Monday, January 17th, most government agencies are closed, schools and libraries are closed. Still, if you're specifically concerned, I’d contact that agency or check their website. Also, alternate side parking is suspended, as is the postal service. Sanitation pickup is suspended, but due to the weather forecast, they plan to transition to snow operation Sunday and continue that work Monday.
