First, the current covid wave is heading in the right direction. However, heading towards a destination doesn’t guarantee arrival, which means that Covid-19 is still very much with us. Yesterday I mentioned that Congresswoman Velasquez has a breakthrough infection, while today, I found out that our chair, Peter Fleming, also has Covid-19. Like the Congresswoman, Peter is vaccinated and boosted, and he isn’t experiencing severe symptoms. This anecdote matches the studies telling us to get vaccinated and boosted. The more people do so, the speed we are heading in the right direction will increase.  

Secondly, don’t forget to order FREE Covid-19 tests delivered to your door by the United States Postal Service by going to COVIDtests.gov. 

Third, and the last item before suggesting that you read below my email signature is to note that this is the last week for idea submissions to participatory budgeting. Councilmembers Hanif and Avelis are both participating, and you can submit ideas until this Sunday, January 23rd.
