In the coming days, we’re expecting a storm that could leave us with anywhere from 2 to 20 inches of snow. If any announcements are made regarding schools, sanitation, alternate side parking, or anything else, I’ll share it, but for today, I’ll keep with the more usual fare.

Fare such as the importance of NYCHA funding and why it was a “deal-breaker” condition in our, and others, support for the Gowanus Rezoning. I mention this because, thankfully, there’s been media coverage of the issue. Specifically, yesterday there was a story on flooding and, at the same time, no running water in Gowanus Houses. I was able to speak to Councilman Lincoln Restler, and the water has been restored. However, as Lincoln noted, the $200 million designated in the Gowanus Rezoning to fix these issues can't happen fast enough.

Before recommending some reading, I’ll remind you of 2 upcoming CB6 meetings. First, tomorrow, Thursday, January 27th, we have our Landmarks/ Land Use committee meeting, and two weeks from tonight, Wednesday, February 9th, is our February full board meeting. Both meetings are on Zoom and begin at 6:30 PM.
