I hope this email finds you well on this 3rd day of March. Apologies for mistakenly referring to yesterday, March 2nd, as the 3rd in yesterday’s newsletter.
I hope this email finds you well on this 3rd day of March. Apologies for mistakenly referring to yesterday, March 2nd, as the 3rd in yesterday’s newsletter. Anyway, I have three quick items.
First, congratulations to Councilmembers Shahana Hanif, representing the 39th district, and Lincoln Restler of the 33rd district, together covering most of CB6, on being elected co-chairs of the New York City Council’s Progressive Caucus. All Council members representing CB6 are part of the progressive caucus, as Alexa Avilés of the 38th district is also a member. I’m confident that having all our council representation on a similar page will advance our shared values and benefit our community district.
Secondly, a final reminder that the BQE-focused Transportation/Public Safety Committee meeting scheduled for tonight is CANCELED. If you already signed up for the meeting, as I had sent out in a notice via zoom, I will automatically re-register you when DOT can reschedule to update us on the BQE. Hopefully, that is sooner than later.
Third, don’t forget that next Wednesday, March 9th, is this month's full board meeting. It’ll be held over Zoom and begin at 6:30 PM. You can see the agenda and register by clicking here or going to https://bit.ly/Mar9cb6.
Many items are listed below my contact information, and I recommend checking them out. Those listings include meetings, jobs, and civic opportunities that could be beneficial. However, whether or not you find them beneficial, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
