Recap, Reminder, Stoop Sales for Ukraine

I hope this email finds you well on this twenty-fifth day of March as we head into the first full weekend of spring with a possible polar vortex headed our way. I have three items to highlight today; one recap and two reminders.

I hope this email finds you well on this twenty-fifth day of March as we head into the first full weekend of spring with a possible polar vortex headed our way. I have three items to highlight today; one recap and two reminders.

First, last night, our CB6 Landmarks/Land Use (LMLU) Committee met and reviewed three items, two from LM and one from LU. First up was an application to the Board of Standards and Appeals(BSA) to allow for a mapped but unbuilt prolongation of Clinton Street to facilitate the development of a logistics center at 728 Court Street. This application garnered the most discussion of the evening's agenda with much community and committee participation. After the discussion, the committee voted to disapprove the application 7 to 4.

The 2 LM items, applications for Certificates of Appropriateness (C of A) from the Landmarks Preservation Commission(LPC), were overwhelmingly approved. The first of those 2 “ C of A’’s was to install a rooftop solar array at 188 Prospect Park West in the Park Slope Historic District, while the other was for a newly enlarged 2-story rear yard extension at 19 Tompkins Place in the Cobble Hill Historic District.

Secondly, our Permits and Licences Committee meets this Monday, March 28th, at 630 PM to review applications for three liquor licenses. You can register for that meeting by clicking here or going to bit.ly/March28Permits. Those three items are expected to join the LMLU items on the April Agenda.

Third, we’ve got lots of stuff happening this weekend, such as Stoop Sales for Ukraine. This weekend over 90 households in Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and Gowanus are hosting a stoop sale to raise money for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
