I hope this email finds you well on this twenty-eighth day of April. I have three items to highlight, followed by my usual suggestion.

First, tonight at 6:30 PM, our Landmarks/Land Use (LM/LU) Committee will meet. The agenda will consist of four Certificates of Appropriateness (C of A) applications. One “C of A” is in the Park Slope Historic District, and the other three are in the Cobble Hill Historic District. You can click here to see the agenda and register for the meeting.

Secondly, speaking of districts, we will be getting new, “new” state senate and congressional districts. Along with that, as matters stand, we’ll have bifurcated primary elections this summer. So you may want to wait for an update before scheduling an August vacation. Also, you’ll probably see a new and possibly different wave of people petitioning to get on the ballot for the said primary.

Third, following up on the city’s budget process, the City Council and Comptroller issued statements in response to the Mayor’s Executive Budget proposal. Both statements indicate the Mayor’s latest proposal as a step in the right direction in their opinion, but they are not yet in agreement. Please note that the budget must be agreed to by July 1st when the new fiscal year begins.
