I hope this email finds you well on this 24th Day of May, also the 139th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge. I have three items and a suggestion to highlight.

First, as I’m sure you’ve heard, there’s a baby formula shortage. The Mayor signed an executive order to prevent price gouging. To report being overcharged,  file a complaint at nyc.gov/dcwp or by calling 311 and saying “overcharge.”

Secondly, if you believe, as CB6 has, that  .6 percent of the city’s budget is not enough for parks, you should, if you have the time, head down to City Hall Park on Thursday, May 26th at 10:00 am and join the Play Fair Coalition to rally and demand 1% of the city budget be allocated for NYC Parks.  Thanks to CB6 Parks Chair Glenn Kelly for highlighting this event.

Third, the Health Department’s Covid-19 alert system remains at high risk (Orange). So, if you haven’t already, get vaccinated and boosted by going to vax4nyc.nyc.gov.

That includes tonight’s Gowanus CAG meeting, tomorrow’s Cobble Hill Association Annual meeting, the Southwest Brooklyn Tenant Union’s May meeting, and other items of interest.  However, whether you check out any of these happenings or not, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
