I hope this email finds you well as summer unofficially begins with Memorial Day weekend. I have a couple of items to highlight.
I hope this email finds you well as summer unofficially begins with Memorial Day weekend. I have a couple of items to highlight.
First, last night, our CB6 Landmarks/Land Use (LMLU) Committee met and reviewed three items. From the LU side of the committee, the first was for a rezoning and special permit on 9th Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenue. The committee, citing support for the IBZ, voted to disapprove of this application by a vote of 11 to 4. The other items for review were both applications for Certificates of Appropriateness ("C of A"), and the committee overwhelmingly approved them. The next stop for these three items will be our June 8th General Board meeting, when the full board will vote on the committee's motions.
Second, on a functionary note, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th, Alternate Side Parking, and even meters will be suspended, as will trash, recycling, and compost collection. Lastly, the Health Department’s Covid-19 alert system remains at high risk (Orange). So, if you haven’t already, get vaccinated and boosted by going to vax4nyc.nyc.gov.
If you read past my contact information, you’ll find a lot is happening across our community in the near future. However, regardless of your thoughts on that future, have a great Memorial Day Weekend.
