I hope this email finds you well as we head into the weekend after a week highlighted by Wednesday’s Full Board meeting.

If you missed the full board meeting, you could watch it here on Youtube. However, if you'd prefer, I'll provide a meeting synopsis. We began by welcoming new members and voting to allow us to continue to meet virtually until the city’s emergency order is no longer in place. After that, we moved on to the committee reports, which consisted of three items from our Landmarks/Land Use Committee.

The first item was a Land Use item and discussion of a motion to disapprove a rezoning and special permit on 9th Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenue. The committee’s motion to disapprove was rejected, and the application was approved with conditions. The other two items were motions to approve applications for Certificates of Appropriateness. The full board approved both. We were also joined by elected officials from City and State governments throughout the meeting.

The June full board meeting was our final full board meeting until September. However, there will be other meetings between now and September. For example, on Wednesday, June 15th, our Parks & Environmental Protection committee will meet at 6:30 PM over Zoom. The focus will be discussing the possibility of making Upper Van Voorhees park into a dog run. Register for the meeting by going to bit.ly/June15ParksCB6.

However, before Wednesday, plenty is going on. Such as PRIDE festivities on 5th Avenue and Sunday's Town Hall with Councilmember Shahana Hanif at the Old Stone House. No matter what you choose to do, have a great weekend!
