The most immediate reminder is that tonight, Wednesday, June 15th, at 6:30 PM over Zoom, our Parks Committee will meet regarding whether to designate Upper Van Voorhees as a Dog Park officially. To register, go to bit.ly/June15ParksCB6.
The second reminder is that tomorrow, Thursday, June 16th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Red Hook Coastal Resiliency Project will host a virtual meeting on their draft design. Register at tinyurl.com/RHCR60.
The first announcement is that we are co-sponsoring a Last Mile Warehouse Forum with Councilmember Alexa Aviles. The forum will take place next Thursday, June 23rd at Red Hook’s PS 15 and begin at 5 PM. It will include representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOT), City Planning, and the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) on the impact of Last Mile Warehouses on the Red Hook Community. The other announcement is that the CB6 Landmarks/Land Use and CB6 Parks / Environmental Protection Committees will host a joint meeting a week from tomorrow, Thursday, June 23rd. The purpose of the meeting will be to receive presentations and updates from DCP and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). DCP's presentation will focus on the ongoing Gowanus Rezoning, and DEP will discuss the proposed design of the Owl's Head CSO Facility & Salt Lot.
