Hopefully, 2024’s 4th week has gone well. I’ve got a few things to share, recap, and remind you about.
Hopefully, 2024’s 4th week has gone well. I’ve got a few things to share, recap, and remind you about.
Firstly, last night at Van Alen and on Zoom, our Landmarks & Land Use(LMLU) committee met to review four items over about 3 hours. The first two items were Landmark applications at 28 Prospect Park West and 487 Henry Street, which the committee conditionally approved. The 3rd item was an application to the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) to waive side yard requirements at 92 King Street was tabled.
The 4th item was a ULURP application for the Red Hook Coastal Resiliency(RHCR) project. RHCR isn’t a typical ULURP application where we’d evaluate a use group for an entire project. RHCR’s ULURP application is related to map changes to regrade and elevate several streets, map new parkland to enlarge Todd Triangle Park, and allow for negotiations with property owners for easement in some potentially impacted locations. The committee conditionally approved it. Additionally, RHCR has entered FEMA’s environmental assessment(EA) public review period. For more information, go to nyc.gov/site/rhcr/index.page.
Except for the tabled application for 92 King Street, those items move to a vote at our February full board meeting on Wednesday, February 21st. Before that, this Monday, January 29th, at 250 Baltic Street, at 6:30, our Permits & Licenses committee will meet and review Liquor license applications for 305 Douglass Street and 293 Van Brunt Street.
More has happened and will happen. Read the rest of this email, and you’ll see what I'm referring to.
I hope you read the rest, but no matter what, have a good weekend.
