I intended to send a newsletter last night but got distracted by Stanton's moonshot and the fact that Nestor is not ready. On that note, I'm ready to write about some civic matters, so I'll get to it.

I intended to send a newsletter last night but got distracted by Stanton's moonshot and the fact that Nestor is not ready. On that note, I'm ready to write about some civic matters, so I'll get to it. 

First, early voting has begun. It takes place from now through Sunday, November 3rd. Polling sites open at 8 am and close at 5 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and 8 pm, Monday through Friday. On Tuesday, November 5th, election day, polls will be open from 6 am until 9 pm. To find out where to vote, go to findmypollsite.vote.nyc. To learn more about who and what you'll vote for, go to nycvotes.org. 

Second, keeping with that theme, our Landmarks/Land Use and Housing Committee met on Wednesday to conditionally approve a Landmarks application in the Cobble Hill Historic District at 136 Kane Street, which would allow for a rear yard and rooftop extension. That application has now been moved to the agenda to be voted on at our November 13th Full Board Meeting. November's Full Board agenda is also expected to include votes on liquor licenses for  247 Smith Street and 358 Van Brunt. That's presuming our Business Affairs and Licensing Committee votes on them at their meeting this Monday, October 28th, at 6:30 pm. 

Third, while not exactly more voting, we're still taking feedback on proposed streets for speed limit reduction under Sammy's Law to share with the DOT. To give this feedback, fill out our form at bit.ly/Sammylawbkcb6.
