Hopefully, your November is off to a good start. To maintain or improve this start, you can vote, jaywalk, sleep more, or cheer on folks running through CB6 and across the city.

What I mean is that polls are open until 5 pm today and tomorrow; you can now legally cross the street wherever you please, and the New York City Marathon course includes our district's segment of 4th Avenue. Streets on the course won't be open for cars from around 7 am until the afternoon, depending on the location. 4th Avenue is expected to reopen around 2:20 pm. CB6's Business Affairs and Licensing chair, Mandi Spishak‑Thomas, will be among those running. Best of luck to Mandi! If anyone needs more motivation to cheer her and others on, remember that many will enjoy the marathon at locations whose liquor license was approved by her committee.

For many, civic concerns can be difficult to consider beyond Tuesday's election, so I'll wrap this up. However, I recommend reading the rest of this email because you'll see a community looking to a future beyond the election, which gives me hope.

No matter what you do, I wish you the best and make sure to vote.
