Meetings, Droids & More
Hopefully, your week has gone well. I have a few things to share today.
First, thank you to everyone who has downloaded BKCB6 (almost a thousand so far). As I mentioned last week, it's the city's first community board app, and outside the central City government, it's also the only city government entity with one.
Second, today may not be a lucky day, but it is the day I received Google Play's approval. After 14 days of testing, the app will be on the Google Play Store for all. So if you're one of the folks who reached out, or even if you're not but use an Android device and want to test it, let me know. Basically, you can download the app now and tell me what you like, what you don't, and anything else you think.
Third, tonight, Wednesday, October 21st, at 6:30 PM, our Transportation, Parks and Transportation, Parks and Public Safety Committee will hear two presentations. One is from the creator of crashcount.nyc, and the other is from the Friends of Fort Defiance. The meeting will be held in person at Principles, 139 9th Street, and virtually over Zoom.
Fourth, tomorrow's Landmarks Committee meeting is canceled. On Monday, October 26th, at 6:30 PM, our Business Affairs and Licenses Committee will meet at 250 Baltic Street to review liquor license applications. The meeting may feel a bit less bookish than usual, as the library has started moving its materials back to the Carroll Gardens Library ahead of a December 1st reopening. Our next Full Board meeting will be on Wednesday, November 18th, since our usual meeting day would have fallen on Veterans Day.
Fifth, early voting for this year's general election starts this Saturday, October 24th. If you need to know where to vote and what's on your ballot, head to bkcb6.app/poll-finder-bk. App havers, of course, already have all of this in their pocket.
I'll stop here and suggest you scroll, download, and read the rest, but even if you stop here, I wish you the best.
