Block by Block, Site by Site
All 120 LIFT sites, sortable by site, address, agency, neighborhood, council district, or community board, next to what each district actually built over the last decade.
Gowanus, Explained
More than 80 mostly industrial blocks became a mixed-use district with over 9,000 homes, around 3,000 of them permanently affordable. Here’s the whole record in one place.
Land Use, Mapped
Every lot in the city, colored by what it is, what it’s zoned for, or what it’s allowed to be, for any community board, council district, or neighborhood.
Rents, Then and Now
A one-bedroom in Red Hook now lists around $4,395, Carroll Gardens $4,300, Gowanus $4,183, Park Slope $3,900. The rents tool shows how every community board in the city got here, month by month, since 2010.
The Use of Land
The use of land is about who gets what, when, and how. What can be built, where, at what scale, and for whom is settled years before anything goes up. So I put everything I’ve built for reading that record in one place.
Block, Baltic, Beyond
In May, Mayor Mamdani and Deputy Mayor Bozorg put out Block by Block. The LIFT list names 120 city-owned sites for housing, two of them in CB6. We’d like to add one more: 250 Baltic Street.
Heating, Voting, Cooling
